Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is famous for his witty and sharp-edged parts in action films. Together, he's been in films that have earned over $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in the city of Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom resided on a United States military base. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother who worked for the bank, while his father, a welding, was a factory worker and welder. Willis began to develop an interest in drama arts while in high school. He was "discovered" during his time working at the cafe in a New York City cafe. Later, he appeared on numerous off-Broadway productions. He was working as a bartender one night when a casting manager noticed his personality and asked to cast him as a bartender in a small film. After countless auditions, Willis was credited with a couple of film appearances, usually uncredited, before taking on the role of the private eye "David Addison" along with the sultry Cybill Shepherd on the cult romantic comedy television show Moonlighting (1985). His humorous and wisecracking P.I. His humor-filled and wisecracking P.I. is often regarded as a test for his role as John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), that saw Willis fight a group of ruthless international thieves in a Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised his role as McClane in the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) and was set in wintery Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers seek to repatriate a corrupt South American general. A sequel, Die Hard with Avengeance (1995) was a success. It featured Samuel L. Jackson as an unrepentant Harlem shopkeeper who is forced to aid McClane in a terrorist attack that occurred in the midst of a scorching New York day.
