Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. She made her feature film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donovan was Charlotte as Taffin in 1988, and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was approached by a professional photographer. This led to an enviable career as a commercial model. Doody avoided nude and glamour work, a rule that was carried into her acting. When she was spotted by the director of casting for a James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. At just 18 as she played the role Doody was - and remains one of the smallest Bond girl to date. Another early movie played a tiny part in the film in the role of IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) that featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a silent actor in a 1987 adaptation to The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading role. It aired in 1988 opposite John Hurt, Dawn France along with Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the movie Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. Then, she moved to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery her agent and girlfriend in Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. Doody's return to the big screen came in 2003 when Michael Caine played Doody in an uncredited role. She was in the film together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. Doody appeared on Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. In 2011, she was to play the lead role on The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons.
