Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American boy band
that specializes in the field of pop. The group was formed in 2009. The group
is made up of Kendall Schmidt and James Maslow and also Logan Henderson and
Carlos PenaVega. They first signed to Nick Records in 2009 before switching to
Columbia Records. They appeared in Nickelodeon's telecast show, Big Time Rush.
The show ran from November 28 in 2009 until July 25, 2013. The pilot episode
featured the group’s first promo single, "Big Time Rush". Three studio
albums were released by the group: BTR in 2010 and Elevate (2011) and 24/Seven
(2013). The group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2014 which lasted until 2021,
when the band resumed live performances and released their single "Call It
Like I See It". Nickelodeon has signed Big Time Rush a record deal in 2009
while simultaneously airing the television series Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon
also joined forces with Columbia/Epic Label Group for production and music that
is original. The first single from the group, "Big Time Rush" was
released on the show' November 29th 2009. The announcement was made by
Nickelodeon, the series was first shown in the U.S. in November 2009 up until
the time it was launched worldwide. It was featured on a preview of the series
for one hour and serves as the show's opener. Promo singles, such as "City
is Ours", "Any Kind of Guy" and more were released during the
series. Big Time Rush remixed "Famous" by Play. The track was
released to iTunes on June 29th in 2010. Another track, "Halfway
There", was released to iTunes on April 27, 2010 after its premier on the
series. It soon became their first hit song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100,
peaking at 93 thanks to digital sales. On September 21 the 21st of September,
2010 Big Time Rush released second single "Till I Forget About You",
to promote the release of their debut album. BTR, the album BTR was released on
October 11 on the 11th of October, 2010, a day after the album's release. It
debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 67,000 copies within its
first week.
